Optimized for use with source components (disc players, DACs, high-performance turntables, preamplifiers, etc.), AudioQuest’s Tornado Source AC cable is an outstanding choice for audiophiles, home theater enthusiasts, and audio/video professionals seeking to upgrade their systems.

With AudioQuest’s Tornado delivering uncompressed current, you’ll experience cleaner, clearer, more naturally beautiful and thrilling sound.

Available with C13 and C19 connectors, Tornado is a step up from Thunder and one model down from Hurricane in AudioQuest’s flagship Storm Series—the very best the company presently offers.

While AudioQuest always considers value, aiming to minimize unnecessary expenses for its customers while acknowledging that absolute sonic perfection may never be possible, carefully considered compromises have been made in Tornado’s development.

Tornado incorporates the two crucial AudioQuest design features that allow the Storm Series models to dramatically outperform all previous AudioQuest AC cables: ZERO-Tech for uncompressed current transfer and RF/ND-Tech, which minimizes circuit misbehavior by cancelling induced RF noise.

Of course, tried-and-true AudioQuest technologies are also present in the Storm Series. Tornado features conductors made of AudioQuest’s finest copper, Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+, that have been carefully controlled for directionality to drain RF noise away from where it would cause the most harm. AudioQuest’s patented 72v Dielectric-Bias System further reduces radio-frequency noise. Moreover, even the drain wires have been silver-plated to more efficiently dissipate harmful RF noise.

Tornado also features AudioQuest’s best AC plugs, comprising Hanging-Silver over Red and Beryllium Coppers, for lower distortion and improved dissipation of high-frequency noise.

Clean power is the foundation to any great audio/video entertainment experience. Treat yours to the next level with AudioQuest Tornado.

  • Solid Solid-Perfect Surface Copper+ Conductors: Solid conductors prevent electrical strand-to-strand interaction, a major source of distortion. Surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields that extend outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure PSC+ eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity.
  • ZERO-Tech: While many AC power cables feature low DC resistance in order to accommodate the demand for high current, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also crucial for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-provoked transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and ZERO (no) characteristic impedance in order to deliver uncompressed high-current transients on demand.
  • RF/ND-Tech: Greatly reduces the distortion caused by induced RF noise, yielding unprecedented levels of noise dissipation across the widest bandwidth (range) of radio frequencies possible. AudioQuest's unique circuit topology uses a common-mode phase-cancelling array, in concert with proprietary dielectric materials which provide additional differential linear filtering.
  • 72v Dielectric-Bias System: AudioQuest’s patented DBS creates an electrostatic field that molecularly optimizes the cable’s insulation (dielectric). This minimizes distortion by increasing the dielectric’s efficiency at high frequency, resulting in clearer sound emerging from a “blacker” background. The inclusion of an RF Trap (a proprietary technology developed for AudioQuest’s Niagara Series of power products), further reduces induced radio-frequency noise.
  • Solid 6% Silver RF-Drain Metal: Enhances the efficient dissipation of radio-frequency noise away from where it will harm the delicate audio signal.
  • Hanging-Silver over Red and Beryllium Copper Plugs: AudioQuest’s best AC plugs enable even lower distortion and better dissipation of high-frequency noise.
  • Directionality: All drawn metal strands or conductors have a non-symmetrical, and therefore directional, grain structure. AudioQuest controls the resulting RF impedance variation so that noise is drained away from where it will cause distortion. A fundamental aspect of AudioQuest’s multifaceted Noise-Dissipation technology, Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly.
