The Reference Alpha 1 is the result of an intensive development phase with the clear aim of creating the ultimate Reference loudspeaker. As the new flagship of the iconic Canton Reference series, it embodies the highest high-end sound quality, technical brilliance and uncompromising attention to detail. The impressive loudspeaker was designed and developed with great passion - from the careful choice of materials for the cabinet to the perfect surface design.

The focus was on the further development of precision, dynamics and fidelity in order to set new sound standards. All of the expertise from over 50 years of company history went into this project and resulted in a loudspeaker that is unique both in its technical complexity and in its acoustic perfection. The Reference Alpha 1 redefines the highest standards - a masterpiece of the art of sound.

The Reference Alpha's innovative technologies and high-quality materials make it another milestone. The BCT cones used for the first time in the Reference series can also be found in the new Reference Alpha. The new midrange system has been coated with an additional diamond coating. This gives the chassis even more rigidity and precision - for a neutral, dynamic and lifelike sound. This is complemented by the Wave surround 3.0 technology, which, thanks to its three surround bends, guarantees even vibration and symmetrical power distribution even at high volumes. The perfectly matched components ensure controlled performance and maximum sound quality.

Diamond tweeter system

The Reference Alpha series tweeter system impresses with its DLC dome tweeter, which has a special diamond coating. This ensures exceptional rigidity and optimizes the vibration behaviour. In combination with the asymmetrical waveguide and the new computer-simulated grille design, the dispersion characteristics are optimized, especially in the crossover and high frequency range above 15,000 Hz. The result: crystal-clear highs, in which the finest details and nuances of the music become audible.

1. Magnet: Through targeted performance and structural optimization of the magnetic drive with a pole-core vent, the voice coil (3) is embedded in a balanced inductive field.

2. Copper ring: Has a positive effect on the magnetic field. Significantly reduces distortion in the transfer function. More pleasant sound with noticeably less distortion, even at higher volume levels.

4. Centering spider: An optimized centering spider with a precisely defined number of corrugations forms the connection between the voice-coil former and the basket.

5. Speaker basket: Glass-fiber-reinforced polycarbonate baskets combine remarkable lightness with high stability, making them an optimal choice for a wide range of applications.

6. TCC cone diaphragm: In the midrange systems of the new Reference Alpha, shape-optimized diaphragms with three different radii are used.

7. Wave surround: The suspension of the moving system, designed as a wave surround, enables very large excursion and precisely controls the transient (attack andBD) and decay behavior.

8. Dust cap: The dust cap seals the moving system and optimally dissipates the heat generated by the voice coil.

9. Trim ring: The amorphously shaped front ring made of low-resonance POM material serves as an asymmetrical waveguide and additionally increases the mechanical stability of the moving system.
