The Aries Cerat Story

Founded by owner and designer Stavros Danos in 2010, a new and exciting high end audio brand emerged, in Cyprus no less.

Bursting with new ideas and the confidence to throw out the audio designers rule book, Aries Cerat fairly quickly started producing very large, very radical and amazingly high performing audio products. Starting as speaker and audio electronics development company, a series of amplifiers, pre-amplifiers and sources were developed as lab tools for speaker development purposes, and later materialized as the fully fledged electronics series.

The first designs to come out was the Exsequor monoblock amplifiers, the Kassandra Mk1 and the Impera preamplifier.

One of the first out of the labs was the Collatio OTL power amplifier. Aries Ceat then realised fairly quickly they had to have a SOTA source to test new products in the factory. No other DAC was up to the task, so they designed their own, the Kassandra MK1 an R2R ladder DAC with tube output stage.

Shortly after the Kassandra, the Concero 65 MK1 Monoblock power amplifier followed. Again, size and weight restrictions were ignored, rather that means nothing if it gets in the way of the ultimate sonic performance.

Amplification and DAC designs started, Stavros returned to a life long passion of his own, to design the ultimate horn speaker. Many thousands of hours were already spent on this project, and finally it culminated in the Contendo, and later the Symphonia, a 3 way design, with ribbon tweeter, compression driver midrange, and tractrix flare bass horn unit. This single chassis speaker stands 130cm high and is fairly compact as far as horn speakers are concerned. Weighing in at 170 kilos and 101db efficiency, the dynamic and realism of the Symphonia is something to behold, a superb integration of drivers and topologies unheard of before from in-production horn speakers.

Fast forward to 2021, Aries Cerat has a full compliment of preamplifiers including the Incito S and Impera models, power amplifiers and phono stages using the best tube topologies. A two model range of circlotron tube input Moss-Fet output monoblock power amplifiers, 5 DAC models (all R2R and using tubes on the output), the huge Contendo horn speaker system, and the Symphonia horn speaker. Added to this there is the ultimate cost no object Legend series of DAC, Preamplifier and Power Amplifiers.

What clients are saying

  • Like Santa Claus...

Verdant Audio is, by far, the best dealer of audio equipment I have ever dealt with and I am on the West Coast while Verdant is on the East Coast. Scott, the owner, is like the Santa Claus in the movie "Miracle on 34th St.": He makes recommendations about what audio equipment best suits your tastes whether he carries those lines or not. He gives you an opportunity to try products he has in stock. And he works with you, after the sale to make sure your happy even if it means returning a purchase. Who else does all the things?

  • I've had the great pleasure..

... of dealing with Scott Bierfeldt at Verdant Audio on a number of recent transactions. I’ve been a serious high-end audio enthusiast for decades and Scott is hands down the best audio dealer with whom I’ve worked. Scott’s audio knowledge is truly impressive. His style is entirely consultive with no sales pressure at all. Working with Scott is like taking audio advice from a good friend that is guiding me to the best choices. In addition, Verdant Audio has an exceptional selection of very fine audio gear. Scott and Verdant are highly recommended.ontent
